TREASURER
We are seeking a volunteer to take on the role of Treasurer . The position involves overseeing financial processes, maintaining accounting records and reporting on the groups financial position.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure financial viability and accuracy of records.
- Complete financial processes and provide regular financial reports.
- Use a simple cash accounting system (training provided).
- Support will be available both locally and from head office
- Attend monthly committee meetings with financial reports.
The current Treasurer will provide mentorship during the transition. A Police Check is required.
VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR
To be responsible for the team of volunteers supporting the delivery of a safe, high-quality and professional RDA programmes focused on positive rider outcomes.
Key responsibilities:
- Recruitment
- Retention
- Training
- Coordination of Volunteer Schedules
- Attend monthly committee meetings
PUBLICITY/SOCIAL MEDIA/COMMUNICATION
We need a volunteer to assist in publishing a bi-monthly newsletter, managing media relations, drafting press releases and coordinating advertising as needed. Following a police check and acceptance, volunteers will undergo an induction course to familiarise themselves with our facilities, procedures, policies and duties.
Key responsibilities:
- Website management
- Social Media management
- Bi-monthly newsletters
- Advertising as required
- Drafting press releases as required
COACH
Do you have experience with horses and enjoy working with people experiencing disability or who have specific challenges or needs. Teaching experience is helpful, but not required as full training is provided and course fees are covered.
Key Responsibilities:
- The development and delivery of RDA programmes to achieve effective rider outcomes.
- To ensure the safety of all RDA people, riders and visitors involved with the session.
SIDE WALKERS & LEADERS
Support the safety and quality of the RDA programme and to work as part of a team to support your allocated rider to achieve their goals.
Key Responsibilities – Leader
- · Handling and controlling the horse when the rider is not able to.
- · Taking full control of the horse in the event of an emergency.
- · Listening and following the instructions of the Coach or Assistant Coach.
- · Keeping at a safe distance from other horses and people.
- · Informing the Coach or Assistant Coach if horse behaviour changes or you feel unsafe.
Key Responsibilities – Sidewalker
- · Ensure rider safety at all times whilst encouraging and enabling appropriate rider independence.
- · Listening and following the instructions of the Coach or Assistant Coach and/or therapist.
- · Assisting in teaching and learning processes, to achieve desired rider outcome.
- · Reporting rider fatigue, changes in behaviour or illness immediately to the Coach or Assistant Coach.
- · Communicating with the leader when necessary.
- · Ensuring that any physical contact with the riders is necessary and appropriate to the activity
- · When there are two sidewalkers, ensuring only one gives instructions to the rider.
- · Informing the Coach or Assistant Coach if you are fatigued or feel unsafe.
SUPPORT STAFF FOR RIDERS
Support the safety and quality of the RDA programme and to work as part of a team to support your allocated rider to achieve their goals.
